Google Maps Inspired Artwork

This week, I hung a new piece of art in our office commissioned from a local San Diego artist, Akiko Mims. Based on another piece that she did, this painting leverages a unique technique where she manually shapes her vision by transposing a Google Map as oil on canvas. Using highways, roads, and other boundaries displayed within a Google Map, Akiko shapes her vision based on a chosen locale.
